Faith, Veterans, and Communities United
Across the country, immigrant detention centers are expanding. Families are being caged, communities torn apart, and private companies profit from human suffering. Together, we can stop it.
You can support our direct actions against ICE nationwide.
WHO WE ARE
Stop the Camps is a coalition of grassroots leaders, civil rights advocates, faith voices, veterans, and Indigenous leaders. Together, we are mobilizing people power to expose detention abuses, halt expansion, and demand accountability.
Partner organizations include Turn Left, Make the Road, Center for Popular Democracy, Faith in Democracy, Vote Common Good, Dekleptocracy Alliance, Leaving MAGA, Faith in Action, Faithful America, Florida Council of Churches, and Mayflower Congregational Church of Christ.
THE CRISIS:
Trump’s immigration dragnet is arresting thousands by the day.
Immigrant detention centers are growing at an alarming rate, yet national media largely ignores the human cost. Across the country, politicians and private corporations are building and expanding facilities that separate families, devastate communities, and turn human suffering into profit. From Camp Blanding in Florida to “Alligator Alcatraz,” this is a coordinated push to normalize mass detention as public policy.
Conditions inside these facilities are shocking. People face maggots in food, denied medications, overflowing toilets, flooding tents, mosquito swarms, and blocked access to attorneys. Religious freedoms are denied, many are held without convictions, and due process is routinely violated. Private prison companies such as CoreCivic and GEO Group profit from this system, often using FEMA funds to finance their operations.
WHAT WE CAN DO
Detention facilities already exist or are planned in states including New Jersey, Georgia, California, Michigan, Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, and Florida. Beyond detention sites, we encourage prayer vigils and solidarity actions at city halls, county courthouses, sheriff offices, federal buildings, and ICE field offices. These alternative sites provide opportunities to hold officials accountable and demonstrate broad community opposition.
Our vigils are a moral witness and a faith-based response to detention expansion. Multi-denominational faith leaders will lead prayers and give public speeches on the immorality of the camps. Veterans will speak about military bases turned into internment facilities, and Indigenous leaders will highlight sovereignty and land rights.
These actions are designed to be visible, prayerful, and media-ready, drawing attention to the urgency of stopping detention expansion while amplifying local voices and national pressure.

WATCH OUR Livestream
Turn Left was the first national organization to warn about Trump’s plan to bring back internment camps. In October 2024, Trump gave a campaign speech in Colorado where he promised to invoke the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 – the same law used to justify internment of Japanese and German-Americans in WW-II.
On August 7, 2025, we brought our coalition partners together for a discussion about Trump’s interment camps and how we can fight back. Watch our coalition talk about the fight ahead recorded on August 7, 2025 below.
Now the camps are here. And they’re spreading.
Together we will STOP THE CAMPS.
